Immersive Environmental Design

COOL DOWN transformed a portion of The Beverly Center into a cohesive, seasonal environment through a unified system of environmental graphics and spatial design. The installation was conceived to create a sense of place, something immersive and inviting, while remaining fully integrated within a functioning retail space.

VISUAL LANGUAGE: The visual system drew on Southern California cues—color, light, and graphic motifs referencing water, sun, and leisure—to create a sense of seasonal contrast within an active retail environment. Large-scale panels and integrated signage were designed to be legible at multiple distances and cohesive across the space.

SPATIAL APPROACH: Working within real-world spatial and operational constraints, the focus was on clarity, repetition, and consistency—ensuring the experience read as a single intentional system rather than a collection of decorative elements.

PROCESS NOTE: Building on an existing creative direction, I refined and expanded the visual system for application across the physical environment. I translated the concept into environmental graphics, signage, dimensional elements, and production ready artwork, resolving the system for scale, legibility, consistency, and real world execution.
